Frequently Asked Questions

How can we find time for an entire weekend when we're so busy?

It's been said that the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. The Marriage Renewal Workshop is like a special date for a husband and wife - a time to laugh, enjoy one another's company, get to know other couples, and gain insights into your marriage relationship. There is always time for what you consider important.

We're too old for that. Isn't this for younger couples?

Are we ever too old to laugh, to enjoy being with other wonderful couples, and to celebrate the blessings our spouses have brought to our lives? As an experienced married couple, you can share what you've learned through your years of marriage. Taking time to enrich your marriage doesn't have an age limit.

Is childcare provided during the weekend?

We do not provide childcare services.

Isn't this for marriages in trouble? We're doing pretty well.

The Marriage Renewal Workshop is for all couples: marriages that are in trouble, marriages that are nearly perfect, and marriages somewhere in between. It's an enrichment experience. There are no counselors - only couples willing to share their lived experiences to help other couples renew their commitment.

I'm not comfortable talking about our marriage in a group.

Except for introductions, no one is required to share anything about their lives or marriages. Much of the weekend is spent listening and sharing in small groups, and passing is always an option. Most discussion questions are very general.

What if my spouse isn't Catholic?

The Marriage Renewal Workshop has been designed for the entire spectrum of today's Catholics, including those with spouses who do not share their faith. While our Catholic faith forms the framework, most non-Catholics feel very comfortable. Mixed-culture couples are very welcome.

Can we skip some sessions?

No, since each segment builds upon the previous one, we discourage partial attendance. If you have special circumstances, please reach out to us.

Can I attend solo if my partner doesn't want to come?

No, the workshop is designed for couples to attend together.

We attended before. Can we attend again?

No problem! However, we give priority to couples who have not attended before.

Which airport is nearest? Do you provide transfers?

The nearest airport is SEA (Seattle-Tacoma International). We do not provide airport transfers.
